释义 同声相应亦称“同声相和”。中国古代声学思想。声学共振原理,至迟于战国时已发现。《庄子·徐无鬼》:“为之调瑟,废一于堂,废一于室。鼓宫宫动,鼓角角动,音律同矣。夫或改调一弦,于二十五弦无当也。鼓之,二十五弦皆动。”记述来自实验的两种共振:基音与基音之间,基音与泛音之间。概括这两种共振及其他事物之相应。《庄子·渔父》篇还得出:“同类相从,同声相应,固天之理也。”《易传·文言》、《吕氏春秋·应同》等亦有类似说法。至西汉董仲舒有所发展。《春秋繁露》有《同类相动》篇,说:“故气同则会,声比则应,其验皦气也。试调琴瑟而错之,鼓其宫则他宫应之,鼓其商则他商应之,五音比而自鸣,非有神,其数然也。”并进而认为:“故琴瑟报弹其宫,他宫自鸣而应之,此物之以类动者也。其动以声而无形,人不见其动之形,则谓之自鸣也。又相动无形,则谓之自然,其实非自然也,有使之然者。物固有实使之,其使之无形。”无形之声,在其传播空间范围内,使相比之音,相应起鸣。同时代人刘安亦知此理,《淮南子·览冥训》说:“叩宫,宫应;弹角,角动,此同声相和者也。”其后,东汉王充指出:“今人操行变气远近,宜与鱼等;气应而变,宜与水均。”(《论衡·变虚》)以水波传播理解声在气中扩展,显示已有声波观念。两晋南北朝时,又有进一步发展。刘宋刘敬叔《异苑》:“中朝时,蜀中有人蓄铜澡盘,晨久恒鸣如人叩,以问张华。华曰:‘此盘与洛阳钟宫商相谐,宫中朝暮撞钟,故声相应,可令轻,则韵乖,鸣自止也。’”用改变应和器体形使其固有频率随之而变的方法,消除共鸣。入宋,沈括复指出共鸣有同调和泛音两种:“琴瑟弦皆有应声。宫弦则应少宫,商弦则应少商,其余皆隔四相应。今曲中有声者,须依次用之。”(《补笔谈·乐律》)为形象地显示规律,他又设计从事纸人实验:“欲知其应者,先调其弦令声和,乃剪纸人加弦上,鼓其应弦,则纸人跃,他弦即不动。声律高低苟动,虽在他琴鼓之,应弦亦振。此之谓正声。”
