释义	驿道亦称驿路。古代交通大道。即为传车、驿马通行而开辟的大路。沿途设置驿站。秦汉以来，发展很快，至唐已颇具规模。唐代驿路网就其主要者而言，有（1）由长安通向西北之陇右道鄯州驿路；（2）长安通向剑南道之益州驿路；（3）长安通向山南东道之襄州驿路；（4）长安通向山南西道之兴元府驿路；（5）长安通向河南道之汴州驿路；（6）长安通向淮南道之扬州驿路；（7）长安通向江南东道之苏州驿路；（8）长安通向江南西道之洪州驿路；（9）长安通向河东道之河中府驿路；（10）长安通向河北道之魏州驿路；（11）长安通向黔中道之黔州驿路；（12）长安通向岭南道之广州驿路；（13）长安至洛阳之驿道等。除由中枢长安发出之主干线外，尚有支线，如洛阳至广州，巂州至南诏等。通边疆之驿路，据贾耽所记，有安西入西域道、广州通海夷道、登州入高丽道等。
